Workshops not avenue for collecting money and eating sumptuous meals-ISODEC

Bolgatanga, June 29, GNA – The Upper East Regional Manager of Integrated and Social Development Centre (ISODEC) Mr. Jonathan Adabre, has expressed concern about the way some participants attend workshops with the sole aim of collecting what he termed as “Travel and Tour (T /T)” and eating sumptuous meals.

He said this at a one day workshop on health organized for Coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations working 0n Health on Saturday in Bolgatanga, Upper East Region.

The workshop was sponsored by the Netherlands.

Mr. Adabre said there was the need for NGOs involved in health and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to collaborate to help provide quality healthcare to the people especially in areas that are hard to reach. He said government and for that matter the GHS alone could not provide all the health needs of the people and said that is why the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health had decided to partner government to help address the health needs of the people to meet the target of the health component of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
