Rawlings in Cote d’Ivoire

Former President Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu, are in Cote d’Ivoire to take part in activities marking the 50th anniversary of the Cote d’Ivoire Bar Association.

President Rawlings who will be away for four days will also hold talks with Ivorian leader, Laurent Gbagbo.

The Bar Association celebrations which began on Monday includes the launch of the West African Lawyers Association (AJAAO), various forums and an official ceremony on Thursday at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Foundation for the Research of Peace in Yamoussoukro.

President Rawlings will be addressing the official ceremony on Thursday alongside President Gbagbo, and former Senegalese President Abdou Diouf.
