Churches asked to seek divine intervention on the economic crunch

Kumasi, May 31, GNA – Mr. Richard Stanley Quarshie, National Chairman of the Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowship, has called on the Church to seek divine intervention in the economic crunch that has brought about global economic recession, hardships and loss of jobs. He said just as “we prayed for peaceful elections, I implore you to pray for God to intervene in the financial crunch that has hit even the superpowers and millions of jobs loss in Europe, Africa and other parts of the world”.

This was contained in a message in connection with the celebration of all Men’s Day in Methodist Church, Ghana that also coincided with induction of officers of the Men’s Fellowships at Wesley Cathedral in Kumasi on Sunday.

The message said as Christian leaders and men of integrity and repute, “we should not be in difficulty to the vision and mission of the Church especially the vision of doubling its membership. Because of apathy this goal has not been achieved nor realized”.

It said the Church had embarked on its 10 years of Strategic Plan between 2008 and 2018 to face-lift the Church and, it behoved all members to ensure its full implementation.

Mr. Asare Yeboah, Immediate Past Kumasi Diocesan Chairman of the Men’s Fellowship, said as the bedrock of the Church, the men should ensure that the Strategic Plan was realized, since the Fellowship had made great contributions to the growth of the Church.
