UEW and Central Connecticut State University sign memoranda

Winneba (C/R), May 22, GNA – The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) of the United States of America have signed a memorandum of understanding to benefit the two institutions.

Under the memorandum the two universities would exchange students, lecturers and programmes to upgrade their knowledge with current trends in the teaching and learning of science.

Inaugurating the first phase of the programme, involving the supply of 40 computers, costing 6,000.00 Ghana Cedis, at the UEW by CCSU on Thursday, Head of Department of Science Education, Dr Michael K. Amedeker said the second phase would involve the training of technicians in the Science Department by CCSU.

Speaking at the function, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of UEW Professor Mawutor Avoke, urged students of the department to make good use of facilitates.

He said the authorities of the university were making efforts to provide students with equipments that would enhance their studies. The Pro-VC later cut a tape to inaugurate the project, jointly established by the two Universities.
