Hunter remanded for killing farmer

Dunkwa-On-Offin (C/R), May 13, GNA – A circuit court at Dunkwa-On-Offin, has remanded Kwasi Obeng, a hunter, into prison custody for allegedly shooting and killing John Kwasi Mensah, a 40-year-old farmer, at Diaso in the Upper Denkyira West District. The suspect, whose plea was not taken, would re-appear at court on Thursday May 28, 2009.

Detective Inspector William Baffoe told the court presided over by Mr. M.E Essandoh that Obeng, who went for hunting expedition in the night, mistook Mensah, who was going to farm, for a game, and fired at him in the chest, killing him instantly.
