Farmer admits defiling 13-year-old girl

Asamankese (E/R), May 3, GNA – The Asamankese Circuit Court has remanded in prison custody a 29-year-old farmer who admitted defiling a 13-year-old girl. Richard Yomoh, who pleaded guilty with explanation, will re-appear on May 11, 2009.

Prosecuting, Police Detective Chief Inspector X.C Okorey, said in March this year, Yomoh sent the girl to buy gari and sugar for him. When the girl bought the items and sent them to his house, he dragged her into his room and forcibly had sex with her. After the act, Yomoh promised to give the girl GHp50 at a later date.

Several days after Yomoh had failed to fulfil his promise, the girl informed her grandmother about the incident. Yomoh was confronted by the girl’s grandmother and he admitted the offence.
