Residents in Jomoro District commend President Mills

Half Assini(WR), April 27, GNA – A cross-section of the people in Jomoro District of the Western Region have commended President John Evans Atta Mills for nominating Mr Victor Nyianyani Kabblah as Jomoro District Chief Executive.

Mr Kabblah is a tutor at Nsein Senior High School.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency in separate interviews at Half Assini on Monday, they hoped the assembly members would unanimously approve the nominee to ensure rapid socio-economic development of the district. Nana Ackah Nwodobe III, Chief of Mangyea said this was the first time that someone from that area had been appointed Jomoro District Chief Executive.

He pointed out that Mr Kabblah contributed towards the development of the area as an assembly member in 2001 and was instrumental in the provision of potable water, rehabilitation of educational infrastructure and granting of loans from the assembly to the youth in agriculture and fishmongers in the area.

Mr John Borlebah Mensah, Jomoro Constituency Chairman of NDC, said people in the constituency were happy about the manner President Mills listened to them and replaced Mr Stephen Blay with Mr Kabblah. “We are equally happy that by this development it would not been seen as a victory for the NDC but for the people and hope the assembly would confirm Mr Kabblah towards the rapid development of the district,” he said.

Mr Abekah Miezah, a farmer from Ezemetianu said Mr Kabblah was a noble, hardworking, God-fearing man who had the development of Jomoro District at heart and appealed to the assembly members to confirm his nomination.

Mr Stephen Nyamike Nwodobe, an educationist said Mr Kabblah had some qualities that would endear him to the people to improve their living standards.

Miss Ernestina Essel-Cudjoe, also an educationist described Mr Kabblah as a fair and firm person who took decisions at the right time.
