Tema General Hospital records 59 deliveries during Easter

Tema, April 14, GNA — The Tema General Hospital recorded 59 births including three sets of twins during the Easter holidays. The hospital on Good Friday recorded 22 deliveries out of which 15 were through normal delivery while seven were through caesarean session. Dr Mrs Charity Sarpong, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, told the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday that 13 of the babies including a set of twins were males.

She said 17 babies were born on Holy Saturday out of which 14 were through normal delivery and three through caesarean session. Dr Mrs Sarpong said that the twins who were currently responding to treatment were resuscitated due to their poor health condition. She said a total of 20 babies comprising seven males and 13 females were born on Easter Sunday adding that that four of them were through caesarean session while 16 were normal births. Dr Mrs Sarpong said all the babies and their mother were in good condition and most of them have been discharged.
