Christians urged to lead worthy lives

Kumasi, April 3, GNA – The Very Reverend Father Samuel Opoku Sarkodie, Parish Priest of the All Saints Catholic Church at Santasi in Kumasi has called on Christians to be at the forefront of the crusade against all forms of social vices by leading exemplary lives. He said it was regrettable that people who claimed to be Christians were deeply involved in criminal activities and immoral acts which were an abomination to God.

Talking about HIV/AIDS at a sensitization programme, organized by the Church in Kumasi, Father Sarkodie decried the spate of immorality among Christians and advised them to change for the better. The programme was organized by the local branch of the Catholic Organization for Social and Religious Advancement (COSRA) for the congregation.

He called for unity among all religions since oneness of purpose was needed to make the country a peaceful one. Father Sarkodie further called on Ghanaians to avoid acts that could lead to conflicts and other violent acts in their communities. Mr. George Kodua, President of COSRA, explained that although the pandemic still existed in the country, people seemed not to care about it, therefore there was the need to always remind them to prevent exposure to the disease.
