GCB presents 2,000 Ghana Cedis to Swedru Senior High School

Agona Swedru, March 27, GNA- The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), has presented a cheque for 2,000 Ghana Cedis, to the Swedru Senior High School, towards its 50th anniversary celebration. Mr. Divine Bonnie, Agona Swedru Branch Manager of GCB and Mr. Daniel Addo, the Deputy Manager, presented the cheque to the school authorities.

Mr. Bonnie said the donation formed part of the corporate responsibility of the bank, to support customers and corporate institutions within its operational area. He expressed the hope that the money would supplement the cost of renovation at the school and the commencement of new projects towards the anniversary. Mr. Bonnie called on financial institutions and other companies operating in the Agona Swedru Municipality to support educational institutions in the area.

The Headmaster of the School, Mr. E K T Osam praised the bank for the kind gesture, which he said would reduce the anniversary expenditure.

He appealed to old students and public- spirited organisations to contribute towards the programme, which takes place on March 28. The ceremony is expected to be attended by President John Evans Atta Mills, on the theme: “The role of the Ghanaian farmer towards the education sector.” 27 March 09
