Violence in Tamale and other places must never recur – Nayina

Tamale, March 6, GNA – Mr Stephen Sumani Nayina, Northern Regional Minister, on Friday attributed the recurrence of violence in the Northern Regions to indiscipline that must not be allowed. He said some people were setting aside laid down rules and regulations and had taken the law into their own hands.

Mr Nayina said this when he addressed school children, security services and other voluntary organization who took part in the 52nd independence anniversary parade at the Tamale Jubilee Park. Mr Nayina appealed to individuals in the Region to use the occasion to fight indiscipline saying: “This is a clarion call on the good people of this Region to join the crusade to fight indiscipline.” He appealed to all religious leaders, traditional rulers, teachers and the media to help to ensure that rules and regulations were obeyed to push Ghana forward. Mr Nayina said with support from all Ghanaians, the government would embark on a programme to revive defunct structures.
