High Commissioner to Canada Recalled

The new government in Ghana has recalled home all the political heads of Ghana’s Diplomatic Missions abroad. That included the High Commissioner to Canada, Dr. MARGARET IVY AMOAKOHENE who had served only two and a half years at her post in Ottawa.

She left Canada on 15th February 2009 upon the termination of her appointment as Ghana High Commissioner to Canada.

Pending the arrival of her successor, Mr. Francis D. Kotia, Minister-Counsellor will act as the Charge d’ Affaires. Before her departure, the former High Commissioner sent her warm wishes in letters to most of the organizations and Churhes in our community.

In another development of interest, another casualty of the new Ghana government’s termination moves was former Toronto resident and former Ghana’s Ambassador to Italy, Charles Agyei-Amoamah who left Rome, Italy for Ghana on Monday February 23, 2009.
