Serious Fraud Office is a fraud – says former Boss

Mr Dominic De-Graft Aidoo, the former Executive Director of the Serious Fraud Office, has alleged that there existed a ruling clique or mafia by the name the G7 in the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Government, which constituted the oligarchy or power block that operated on several principles, the Guide reports.

One of such principles, he said, is the survival of the fittest principle which is founded on the belief that power must be wielded up there, and that all other persons should derive power from them. The former SFO boss made this revelation and others on Thursday when he talked to Komla Dumor on a Joy FM radio programme.

Dominic Aidoo’s revelations, which shocked listeners in the Accra-Tema Metropolis and left most people dumbfounded also gave a curious picture of the membership of the SFO board.

He said the members are not independent minded people- the Chairman of the Board, Mr A. Quarshie Sam an 84-year old retired Court of Appeal Judge whom, was the personal choice of Mr Ato Dadzie, the former Chief of Staff, according to De Graft Aidoo.

Others are Mr K.B Quantson, the current Executive Secretary of the Narcotic Control Board, formerly of the BNI, and an NDC hatchet man.

Another member of the board is K.B. Bonful, being the representative of the ministry of Interior and former Deputy Minister of Interior.

Then, Nii Okaidja Adamafio, former Minister of Interior, Mr G.S. Aggor former CID boss and Mr J.C. Amonoo Monney, Special Prosecutor during the PNDC era.

The former Executive Director also revealed that Capital Telecom is a ghost company owned by some Ghanaians and had bled the country to the tune of ?45 million in a fraudulent rural telecommunication deal.

Capital Telecom won the contract of undertaking the project, covering half of the country with the stated amount, in what the former P&T Corporation had at the time quoted $33 million to serve the entire country.
