Accra, Jan 27, GNA-The Chiefs and Queenmothers of Ekumfi Traditional Area in the Central Region have congratulated President John Atta Mills on his election as President of the Republic of Ghana. “Your election is indeed a fitting tribute to your sterling qualities as a true patriot and a man of peace, committed to the principles of democracy, justice and equity, and the development and welfare of all citizens in this country,” the Ekumfi Traditional Council said in a statement.
The statement, signed by Nana Baah IV, Acting President of the Council, recalled with pride that President Atta Mills hailed from the Ekumfi Traditional Area, both maternally and paternally. The statement pledged the unflinching support of the people of the Traditional Area throughout the President’s tenure office, and prayed to the Almighty to grant the President the necessary wisdom and strength to realize all he had set to do for the country. “We propose to call on Your Excellency at your earliest convenience to extend our felicitations in person and to confer with you on matters of mutual concern and interest. “Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of our highest consideration and esteem,” the Council said. 27 Jan. 09
