Stanbic Bank staff undertakes ride to raise funds for construction of school

Tamale, Jan. 16, GNA – Miss Humu Hati Mahama, 30, a staff of Stanbic Bank, has undertaken a six-day cycling ride from Accra to Tamale and covered 650 kilometres.

Stanbic Bank sponsored the ride to help raise funds for the construction of a block of six classrooms and a library for Nuri Iman Primary School at Tutuyili, a village near Tamale. Miss Mahama told journalists in Tamale on Friday that she was moved by the dilapidated nature of the school that compelled pupils to attend classes. She commended Stanbic Bank for sponsoring her ride and appealed to others, especially the youth, to be motivated to undertake activities that would make a difference in the lives of people in their communities.

Mr. Issah Seidu, Branch Manager of Stanbic Bank in Tamale, said the bank sponsored the ride as part of its social responsibility and expressed the hope that Miss Mahama’s action would encourage other youth to live their dreams.
