UT Financial Services donates to Korle Bu Hospital

Accra, Jan. 15, GNA – UT Financial Services on Thursday donated 30 benches and a cheque for GH¢ 2,000 to the Child Health Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. Mr Victor Kusi Yeboah, Managing Director of UT Financial Services, who made the donation at a ceremony in Accra, said it formed part of the company’s contribution to help activities of people within its catchment areas.

Mr Kusi Yeboah said the company chose the Child Health Unit because of its important role of ensuring that children were delivered safely and under good conditions. He said the company recognised and believed in supporting efforts of people to improve the lot of society. He announced that the company was developing a micro insurance policy to cater for health needs of the deprived in society.

Professor Nii Otoo Nartey, Chief Executive Officer of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, described the timing of the donation as opportune because it would be used in refurbishing the unit, which he said, was currently being expanded. He said the unit currently had 30 incubators, which were inadequate to cater for the increasing number of births. Prof Nartey called on other corporate organisations to emulate the company by donating to the unit.
