BSPG of Presbyterian Church holds convention

Kumasi, Jan 6, GNA – The Bible Study and Prayer Group (BSPG) of the Asante Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has held its annual convention at Kyirapatre in Kumasi with a call on Christians to renew their commitment to the propagation of the gospel. Mr Boakye Kessie, President of the Group, who made the call, said this would help salvage society from evil deeds. The four-day convention was on the theme “Put on the Armour of God”.

Mr Kessie decried the lukewarm attitude by some Christians in leading holy lives and observed that the want for materialism had led most Christians wayward and they become inactive in adhering to biblical principles.

The BSPG president hinted that his outfit had intensified its evangelism to help increase membership of the Presbyterian Church whiles “showing the lost souls the light for the betterment of their lives”. He tasked the members to abide by the principles and rules of the Group in order to ensure sanity and discipline in their operations. The Reverend Otuo Acheampong, Chairperson of the Asante Presbytery of the Church, took the opportunity to wish members a prosperous New Year and said the time has come for them to move ahead in unity and understanding for effective propagation of the gospel. 7 Jan. 09
