Global Evangelical Church holds Thanksgiving Service

Accra, Dec. 27, GNA-Christians have been called upon to open a new chapter by refraining from acts which hinder national development. Mr Blewusi Elvis Nkegbe, Catechist of the Tesano branch of the Global Evangelical Church, made the call at a Special Thanksgiving Service in Accra on Saturday.

He said Christians would be doing disservice to the nation if they did not allow the teachings of Jesus Christ to reflect in their daily lives.

Mr Nkegbe attributed the country’s socio-economic woes to Christians’ mad rush for monetary gains instead of seeking their spiritual upliftment.

He called on parents to instill in their wards a sense of discipline worthy of emulation. The Catechist advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used by disgruntled politicians to cause confusion and chaos. He also advised them not to give vain promises which they could not deliver when voted into power. The Catechist thanked Ghanaians for the peaceful manner in which they exercised their franchise and expressed the hope that the same level of patriotism would be maintained in future elections. 27 Dec. 08
