Unemployed appears in court for assault

Sekondi, Dec.16,-GNA-Akwasi Ketewa, a 31-year old unemployed, on Monday appeared before a Sekondi District Magistrate’s Court for alleged assault.

The accused who pleaded not guilty was remanded to re-appear on January 22, 2009. Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Godwin Bawa said the accused assaulted one Ebenezer Andoh who suspected him of having stolen his fifty Ghana Cedis cash and other items from his store. He said when the complainant detected the theft of the money and the items, he went to the house of the accused to ask him to return them but he was not at home.

Sergeant Bawa said the complainant left a message with the family members of the accused who delivered it when he got back home. He said the accused took offence when he got the message and later attacked and assaulted the complainant. 16 Dec. 08
