Kufuor appoints Hamidu Security Advisor

Accra, Jan 11, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Thursday appointed Lieutenant-General Joshua Hamidu (Rtd.) as National Security Advisor.

A statement issued by Ms Elizabeth Ohene, Presidential Advisor on Public Affairs said Lt. Gen. Hamidu was a former Chief of Defence Staff under General Kwesi Akuffo’s regime that was overthrown in 1979.

He later became a liaison officer between that government and the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) the same year.
