Voting – Nkwanta

At Nkwanta in the Volta Region, the Presiding Officer assigned to the E.P JHS “A” Workshop polling sStation and three polling assistants for the E.P. JHS Polling Station at Nkwanta in the Nkwanta South Constituency failed to turn up for duty causing a delay in the start of voting at those polling stations.

Mr. Iddrisu Adam, Returning Officer for the Constituency, told the GNA that new people had to be recruited to get the exercise going otherwise the election has so far been without any major hitches. At the Nkwanta Secondary School Polling station 357 voters out of 910 cast their ballots at 1010 hours when the GNA visited there. At the English Arabic Polling Station, Mr. Michael Gbedebu, the Presiding Officer said 335 out of 1,428 people whose names were in the register cast their ballots as at 1000 hours while at the EP JHS Polling Station 200 out of 1,080 people cast their ballots.
