NPP drops at President’s polling centre

The 2008 election has comes with it many shifts and surprises.

Provisional results from polling agents at President’s Kufuor’s polling centre in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency indicate the NPP lost by a marginal 20 votes.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) bagged 335 while the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) polled 315 votes.

At the constituency level, however, the NPP won in the constituency in the 2004 elections by 30,120, representing 54.80 % while the NDC trailed closely with 23,860 representing 43.40 %.

Although both the NPP and the NDC are confident of a win in the constituency, provisional results trickling in point to a tight race.
