Volta Region EC is set for Sunday’s polls-Kpatakpa

Ho, Dec. 5, GNA – The Volta Regional Directorate of the Electoral Commission is set to hold successful elections on Sunday. “We are putting finishing touches to preparations to ensure the success of the poll in the region” Ms Laurentia Kpatakpa, the Volta Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, told the Ghana News Agency on Friday.

“The districts are packing their materials and items for easy conveyance to the various stations so we are set for the exercise,” she said.

Ms Kpatakpa said the Directorate had secured all necessary logistics including feeding allowances for officials and was optimistic that the election would be without any hitches. When the GNA visited the Regional Police Headquarters by 0900 hours, the personnel were on parade in preparation for deployment by close of day.

Mr Bernard Dery, the Regional Police Commander, told the GNA that 300 flash points have been identified in the region and said his men were ready to ensure free, fair and peaceful election. 05 Dec 08
