I am still in the race – Kwame ‘Major’

Kumasi, Dec.5, GNA – Mr Kwame Boateng, Parliamentary Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) for Nhyiaeso Constituency in Kumasi, has denied rumours that he has withdrawn from the parliamentary race.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Friday, Mr. Boateng, alias Kwame Mayor, said the rumour is a calculated attempt by his political opponents to sabotage his efforts at winning the seat. “I am still in the race”, he emphasised.

He said it was Mr Kwame Owusu, an independent candidate, who had withdrawn and not him.

He said there is the need for a change in the Nhyiaeso constituency and appealed to the youth, especially the supporters of the independent candidate, to throw their support behind him, to bring the needed change in the constituency.

Mr Boateng stressed the need for a peaceful election in the constituency and appealed to the people to desist from acts that could create violence during and after the elections.

Mr Boateng said, he had outlined various development initiatives for the people in the constituency and called on them to vote for him so that he would be able to pursue the agenda.
