Accra, Nov 23, GNA – Nii Bubui Kakai, Chairman of the Krowor Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nungua, has advised all peace-loving Ghanaians to jealously preserve the peace currently prevailing in the country. This, he said, was because “there is no place like home,” and for that matter, it would be difficult for Ghanaians to seek political asylum elsewhere, should there be any chaos after the December 7 elections.
Nii Kakai gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra at the weekend, during which he expressed his views on the country’s political situation after the upcoming polls. He pointed out that politics was about the expression of divergent views on issues, after which the majority decision ought to be respected by all and sundry. Nii Kakai therefore advised Ghanaians to accept in good faith, the election results to be declared by the Electoral Commission, after the polls on December 7.
The Constituency Chairman urged Ghanaians to take a cue from the recent American Polls, and guard against all acts that would disturb the peace the nation was enjoying. He said both the victorious and defeated candidates had resolved to co-operate and work together for the betterment, development and progress of the United States.
“We are all praying that come December 7, the electorate will elect a very good leader in a peaceful country,” he said. On the question of parliamentary candidates, Nii Kakai cautioned the electorate to desist from electing candidates along tribal lines and that the best choice of the people should be the candidate who would perform. Asked about the NPP’s chances in the December elections, Nii Kakai expressed optimism that the party would win a landslide victory. He said this victory would be as a result of the strong support from women, who had been the great beneficiaries of the NPP government’s family-centred programmes.
