Jailed TWO Years for stealing energy drink?

Kumasi, Nov. 11, GNA – The Ashanti New Town Court in Kumasi, on Monday sentenced Adams Suleman, a scrap dealer to 24 months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing a carton of energy drink.

Suleman, 23, was accused of stealing one carton of Blue Jeans Energy drink worth GH¢35 belonging to one Dickson Darko Mensa at Bantama in Kumasi on November 5, this year.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and was convicted on his own plea. Police Sergeant Joseph Sallah told the court that on the said date, the convict went to the shop of the complainant at about 1630hours with the intention of buying some of the products at the shop.

He said Suleman entered the shop and stole the drink but was caught and when he was interrogated, he could not give any tangible reason. Sergeant Sallah said following this development, he was arrested and handed over to the police and after investigations he was charged with the offence.
