Farmer convicted for defecating in slaughter house

Twifo-Praso(C/R), Nov.10, GNA – Johnson Essumang, a 32-year old farmer from Twifo- Praso who defecated in a newly constructed slaughter house was last Friday sentenced to a fine of GH¢150.00 by a district’s magistrate’s court at Twifo- Praso. Essumang who pleaded guilty to defecating in an unauthorized place, was also bonded to be of good behaviour for six months and will go to prison for six months each in default of the fine or bond. Prosecuting, Mr Isaac Entsiey an official of Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District Environmental Office, told the court presided over by Mr Seth Bio-Nyamekye that on October 22, 2008, Essumang was spotted by some butchers defecating in the building. A report was made to the district sanitation office which issued a criminal summons to arraign him. 10 Nov. 08
