Nine Parliamentary Candidates to contest Techiman North and South seats

Techiman(BAR) Nov. 05, GNA – Nine Parliamentary Candidates including a woman would contest Techiman North and South seats during Election 2008. Mr Kwabena Asante, Techiman Municipal Electoral Officer, disclosed this to GNA at Techiman.

They are, Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Ekumfi, Minister for Railways, Harbours and Ports for NPP, Mr Alex Kyeremeh, 46 for NDC, Madam Ampomah Agartha, 31, a teacher for CPP and Mr Isaac Owusu-Peprah, 41, a diplomat for DFP would contest the Techiman North seat. Mr Daniel Mensah 41, Technical Assistant in Agriculture for CPP, Mr Prince Yaw Donyina 41, Techiman Municipal Chief Executive for NPP, Mr Amoah David Dumah, 34 for PNC, Mr Addai Simons 54, for NDC and Mr Lale David Den 43, for DFP would contest the Techiman South seat. Mr Asante said all the necessary measures had been put in place to ensure a free and fair election.

He expressed concern about defacing of posters by opponents in the area and warned that it was an offence. Mr Asante advised the candidates to consult landlords before pasting their posters on their buildings to avoid confrontations.
