Owusu Gyamerah confirmed as Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive

Obuasi, Oct. 31, GNA – Members of Obuasi Municipal Assembly have confirmed Mr Owusu Gyamerah as Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive. All the 42 assembly members at an emergency meeting voted “Yes” in the presence of Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister and Mr Peter Kwabena Ameyaw, Adansi North District Chief Executive.

Mr Gyamerah 50, who holds Master’s Degree in Philosophy (Mathematics Education) is Head of Mathematics and Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Department of Akrokerri College of Education.

Mr Owusu-Ansah commended the assembly members for the honour and respect to the executive arm of government by ensuring smooth approval of the nominee.

He said the confirmation had placed much responsibility on Mr Gyamerah’s shoulders and should work with much respect to the assembly members, staff, heads of departments and the people. Mr Owusu-Ansah urged him to endeavour to ensure unity among them to work as a team to develop the municipality. He advised the assembly members to be involved in the administration of the assembly’s activities for the benefit of the citizenry.

Mr Gyamerah said the assembly members had demonstrated they were ready to work with him and pledged an open door administration without discrimination.

He reminded them of the challenges ahead adding “with great sense of unity, we can achieve our goals”. Mr Gyamerah stressed the need for fairness in the provision of development projects in the municipality and opinion leaders would be involved in the supervision of the projects.
