Nkoranza (B/A), Oct. 20, GNA – Mr. Mac Lawrence Ahiadu, Nkoranza District Director of Agricultural Services has appealed to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to provide his outfit with pesticides to fight army worms in the district. He said the worms had destroyed maize farms and putting farmers in losses in the past three years.
Mr told the Ghana News Agency that a large maize farm of more than 45 acres belonging to a farmer, Kwadwo Kyei had been completely destroyed by the worms and that extension officers were studying the situation in the communities for quick intervention. He advised farmers to regularly visit their farms and report any signs of pests to the extension officers.
