Chief condemns contractor’s attitude

Kukuom (B/A) Oct. 18 GNA – Osahene Kwaku Atterkyi, Omanhene of Kukuom Traditional Area in Brong Ahafo has given the contractor working on a project at Kukuom Agriculture Senior High Model School a two-week ultimatum to resume work on the contract or face the full rigours of the law.

He said the contractor, Atwimaman Construction Firm, was engaged two years ago but abandoned the project about a year ago. Osahene Atterkyi made this known during an interaction with newsmen at his palace at Kukuom in the Asunafo South District. He expressed regret about the irresponsible attitude of some contractors in the country, which, he said, had contributed to retard the nation’s development. The Omanhene appealed to the Ministries of Education, Science and Sports and Works and Housing to terminate the contract and award it to a competent contractor to complete the work. On the road network in the town, he appealed to the government to, as a matter of urgency, award it to a competent contractor to give the town the necessary facelift.
