Kumasi, Oct. 16, GNA – Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene will visit Barbados from October 22 to 25, this year, to receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws (LLD) from the University of West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
A statement signed by Mr. G. B. Osei-Antwi, Media Relations Manager at the Manhyia Palace, said the Asantehene would unveil a cornerstone plaque at the site of the University’s new administration building and also plant a tree there.
It said the Asantehene would also pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mr Owen Seymour Arthur. Otumfuo Osei Tutu will be accompanied on the visit by Chiefs, the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the Acting Chief of Staff at Manhyia Palace, Mr. Kofi Owusu Boateng and other Officials.
