Methodist Church To Set Up Eye Clinic

Kade The Akim Oda District of the Methodist Church plans to set up an eye clinic at Akim Oda. The Reverend Benjamin Asare, Chairman and General Superintendent of the district, said the clinic will be housed in the premises of the old Methodist Book Depot in the town. Addressing the 11th annual Synod of the Akim Oda district of the Church at Kade, Rev. Asare said there are plans to provide potable water in selected villages, build clinics and a senior secondary school. He said the Church can establish clinics in remote villages to alleviate the plight of the poor. Rev. Asare asked every circuit in the district to identify one rural community to be included in the district’s long-term plan under the primary health care programme. He hoped that in the next five years, one remote village in each circuit would be provided with at least one borehole. The chairman said in the district’s long-term plan, a senior secondary school will be established by the church.
