Akyem Oda (E/R), Oct. 5, GNA – Apostle Kadmel Agbelenyoh in-charge of the Seventh Day Church of Theocracy, on Saturday urged churches in the country to use their sermons to launch a relentless crusade on drug trafficking that had engulfed the society. The Presiding Apostle observed that the desire of some Ghanaians to acquire wealth had driven them to engage in various illegal acts such as drug trafficking saying: “No week passes by without the arrest of a drug trafficker”. Apostle Agbelenyoh, Overseer, at the church’s headquarters at Homedakrom near Pokuase, said this at a special crusade organised by the municipal branch of the church at Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region. He noted with concern that there was also an increase in the use of such narcotic drugs, especially among the youth. The Apostle called on society, especially churches not to pretend to be comfortable with the situation, when leaders were fully aware of the disastrous consequences of the use of such drugs. The Overseer called on Christians to be tolerant in order to help build a peaceful, united and stable society. Apostle Agbelenyoh urged Christians to reflect on the ways and means they could join hands with the government to bring healing, reconciliation and peace to the country. He used the occasion to pray for the nation and the sick, including the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
