Excitement and Music herald NDC Manifesto launch

Accra, Oct. 4. GNA- Excitement, music and poetry recitals interspersed the launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto on Saturday. The Dansoman Youth Choir kick-started the event with popular local hymnals and sang the National Anthem with vigour and precision, while David Mawutor-led Ho Borbobor group entertained the crowd to newly composed party songs amid dancing which the party’s big shots could not help, but to dance with enthusiasm.

Outside the main auditorium, thousands of party supporters engaged in different cultural displays. The auditorium reverberated when Former President Jerry John Rawlings and wife Nana Konadu entered, amid shouts of “J.J., J.J,” while the party’s flag bearer, Professor John Evans Atta Mills and Mrs. Naadu Mills were given a standing ovation with shouts of “Yesesem” which is the party’s slogan for “change.” The auditorium was decorated in the NDC colours with spots of the National flag while the outside was clad with its emblem, the Umbrella.

Majority of the supporters including MP’s and its National Executives wore attires that have symbols and colours of the party. To crown the event, Former President Rawlings, aided by Mr. Enoch Teye Mansah tuned to the popular Christian song, “Onward Christian soldiers” supported the enthusiastic crowd. The Manifesto has four aim areas as its focus, investing in people, investing in jobs, investing in the economy and maintaining a transparent and accountable government.
