140,000 Ghana cedis realised for Asogli Education Endowment Fund

Ho, Sept. 28, GNA – About 140,000 Ghana cedis has been realised for Asogli Education Endowment Fund established five years ago and would soon begin awarding scholarships to brilliant and needy students in the Asogli Traditional Area.

This was announced by Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State at a durbar to climax this year’s Yam Festival celebrations on Saturday at Ho.

He said since his installation five years ago efforts had been made to improve the living standards of the people and establishment of income generating ventures in the energy sector, hospitality and real estate and considering entering into salt mining and processing. On politics, Togbe Afede expressed concern about corruption and division in Africa.

He noted that diversity was crucial to deepen democracy and urged African leaders to recognize the inevitability and indeed the desirability of opposition. Togbe Agorkorli IV, Chief of Notsie in Togo, was the Guest of Honour at the durbar. 28 Sept. 08
