CPP donates to orphanage

Kumasi, Sept. 26, GNA – The Convention People’s Party (CPP) on Thursday donated food items to the Kumasi Children’s Home in Kumasi. The items included 10 bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, tins of milk and Milo as well as confectionaries. Mrs. Yvonne Nduom, wife of the CPP flag bearer who led the party to present the items, said the donation was in line with the party’s social responsibilities.

“It also aims at promoting the welfare of the children”, she said and added that the time had come for stakeholders, corporate bodies and non-governmental organizations to be supportive of orphanages. Mrs. Nduom advised nursing mothers not to abandon their babies in times of financial constraints but liaise with orphanages for the upkeep of the children.

Madam Victoria Asugnya, Supervisor of the Home, thanked the CPP and expressed the hope that the party would continue to support the home either in cash or in kind. 26 Sept 08
