Display HIV/AIDS posters in public places

Akim Oda (E/R), Sept 25, GNA – A youth leader has appealed to operators of chop and drinking bars to display HIV/AIDS posters and other educational materials in their premises to help curb the spread of the virus.

Mr. Eric Pinaman Asare, President of Universal United Youth Organisation (UUY), a non-governmental organisation, said this at a two-day HIV/AIDS awareness workshop for some youth groups at Akim Oda on Wednesday.

He appealed to NGOs and Community-Based Organisations in the country to help inculcate in the youth the need for abstinence in addition to the promotion of the use of condom among adults. Mr Asare appealed to women to have single sex partners and also to remain faithful to them so as to make an impact on the fight against the virus. He appealed to the youth to educate their parents about the virus. 25 Sept. 08
