Apam(C/R), Sept. 20, GNA – Members of the Aldersgate Methodist Church medical team from the United States in the country have presented 15 desks each, school bags and chairs to five basic schools and two senior high schools in the town.

The basic schools are the Apam Methodist “A” “B” “C” Junior High, Apam Catholic Junior High, Apam Anglican, Apam Salvation Army Junior High and Apam Presbyterians Junior High schools. The senior high schools are the Apam Senior High and Gomoa Secondary/Technical High schools at Gomoa Dawurampong. Children of the kindergarten section also received toys, balloons and other confessionals.

The teachers were each a school bag, a lunch bag, a calculator and a “T” shirt. The leader of the team, Mrs. Sara Atkinson, said their move followed an appeal made to them by members of the Apam citizens in Pennsylvania. The Gomoa West District Director of Education, Mrs. Beatrice Lokko, expressed the hope that the materials would motivate teachers in the town to produce good results in the near future.
