Nduom to make weekly radio broadcasts

Accra, Sept. 17, GNA – Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), would begin a series of live weekly radio broadcasts on a number of radio stations in the country from Friday, September 19, 2008. The CPP said the broadcast was another of the many novelties introduced by Dr Nduom into this year’s electioneering campaign to offer an appropriate platform for the electorate to have an insight into what an Nduom presidency had for them.

A press statement signed by Mr Richmond Keelson, Communication specialist at the office of the presidential candidate, said the CPP flag bearer was the first presidential candidate to begin night interaction with the needy. He also held a host of discussions with many identifiable groups like the Trades Union Congress, Association of Ghana Industries, religious groups, fishermen, farmers, market women, Ghana Private Road Transport Union, among others. It said according to the Nduom for President 2008 Campaign Team, the exercise was a “harbinger of what an Nduom presidency has in offer for Ghanaians”.

Dr Nduom, the statement said, would like the weekly event to be a permanent feature under his administration in the event of his election as the next president of Ghana. The release said Dr Nduom had been the only presidential candidate to have interacted with the electorate through similar broadcasts on campaign tours throughout the country and had since his election as the presidential candidate demonstrated his commitment to rapid response to issues by responding to radio and television programmes. Dr Nduom had also put out numerous ideas on how, for instance, to effectively clean up the environment, how to ensure good governance, effective utilization of the oil fund and reforms in education.

The statement said that Dr Nduom intended making the broadcast a national weekly event. Part of the agenda would be to discuss with Ghanaians into detail his 10-point agenda, which he believed could bring the needed change that every Ghanaians desired, it said. It said Dr Nduom, in the maiden broadcast, would highlight the launch of the CPP campaign, give account of his nationwide tours and share with Ghanaians, the harrowing experiences of the recent NDC-NPP clashes in Northern Ghana.
