Nkoranza (BAR), Sept. 8, GNA – Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Flag bearer of New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged members, activists and supporters of the Party to exhibit a high sense of discipline during the electioneering campaign to ensure fair, free, peaceful and successful elections in December.
He made the call when addressing separate mammoth rallies in Nkoranza South and North Constituencies at Nkoranza as part of his seven-day tour of Brong Ahafo Region.
Nana Akufo-Addo reiterated that elections were a decision-taking process by the electorate on a choice of government therefore, they should not engage in negative attitudes and practices that would lead to quarrels and confrontations.
He noted that such acts could destabilise the country and adversely affect national development and advised the youth to eschew bad behaviours as the world was watching to see the outcome of the December 7 elections.
Nana Akufo-Addo assured the people that the next NPP Government under his leadership would continue with the good works of the President Kufuor administration and asked them to vote to elect him as the next President to move the country forward. “Since education is the key to the growth of every country, NPP would continue to provide the necessary support to make education affordable and also make Senior High School education fee free similar to the basic schools,” he said.
Nana Akufo-Addo introduced the two aspiring Parliamentarians in the constituencies to the electorate and appealed to them to vote for Mr Kwame Amporfo-Twumasi for Nkoranza South and Major Derrick Oduro (Rtd) for Nkoranza North.
He paid a courtesy call on Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom 1V, Omanhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area and his elders and appealed to traditional authorities to preach tolerance among the people. Okatakyie Kudom called on leadership of the political parties to educate their activists and supporters to guard against confrontations and provocative statements that could create confusion in the communities. 08 Sept. 08
