Ghana Hajj Agents support IHMC

Accra, Sep. 4, GNA – The Ghana Hajj Agents Association has expressed its support for the establishment of the Interim Hajj Management Committee (IHMC) by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu.

A statement signed by Mr. Ismail Tanko, Chairman of the Working Committee, said the support was based on the advanced and satisfactory preparatory arrangement by the IHMC with respect to accommodation and transportation in Saudi Arabia and flight arrangements with notable airlines that operate daily flights to and from the kingdom.

“We are fully convinced that the IHMC has gone far in their preparations towards a smooth and incidence free Hajj. We are also of the belief that the office of the National Chief Imam is the only centralized authority that has the mandate to pronounce on Islamic religious matters in the country,” the statement said. The association called on all prospective pilgrims to cooperate with the IHMC and pay their fare to accredited Hajj agents throughout the country to enable the committee begin the processing of documents for a smooth Hajj.
