Christian Council and religious groups urged to pray for peaceful

election

Koforidua, Aug. 17, GNA – The former Eastern Regional Manager of the Anglican Educational Unit, Very Rev. Gyebi Danquah, has appealed to the Christian Council and other religious groups to fast and pray for a peaceful election in December.

He said experience had shown that any country or group of people who do not rely on God are bound to take wrong decisions no matter their resources, facilities or social status.

Very Rev Gyebi Danquah was speaking at the opening of the 10th National Biennial Delegates Conference of the Guild of Servants of the Sanctuary of the Anglican Church of Ghana at Koforidua on Saturday.

The four-day conference is being attended by 120 participants representing the various dioceses of the Anglican Church in the country and is under the theme “Election 2008 let us seek the face of God.”

In a speech read on his behalf the Director General of the Guild, Mr Solomon Arthur, called on members of the guild to be more prayerful, submissive and truthful and to participate more in the spiritual activities of the church and above all to show love to one another.
