Tema, Aug. 15, GNA – Tema Community “2” District police, on Monday received six computers, mobiles phones and accessories from the Liberty Transfer International, a money transfer agency to assist them effectively combat crime in the metropolis.
The items worth 6,000 dollars, was donated by the Liberty Transfer, the cheapest and most convenient money transfer services company in Ghana, as part of its social corporate responsibility to the community. Presenting the items, Mr William Adjovu, Managing Director of the company said, it has always been the desire of Liberty Transfer to contribute towards the advancement of Ghana police in appreciation of the great service they render to society.
“A well resourced police service means less crime in society, which will provide the platform for businesses to thrive thereby causing the economy to grow,” Mr Adjovu said.
He said the company shared the view that corporate organisations should not only engage in activities that directly benefit their operations, but must also contribute for the betterment of the society in which they operate.
Mr Adjovu said he hoped the items would support the community in its communication and data management activities as well as minimized the logistical challenges facing the police service in its quest to effectively combat crime and protect lives and property. “Liberty Transfer’s highly incomparable discounted fees charged for our services are not only used for the company’s operations, but also to contribute to the development of the country,” he said. He assured the district police that the company would continue to make its partnership with the police more meaningful in the coming years. Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mrs Adolphine Dzansi, the second in command at the Community “2” District Police Station, received the items and thanked the company for the gesture. She said it would go a long a way to assist the police gather and manage data in the community and also helped to reduce the crime wave in the Tema Metropolis.
