National service personnel week launched in Bosomtwe

Kuntanase (Ash), Aug 12, GNA – National service personnel nationwide have been urged to support the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to educate the populace on their civic rights and responsibilities.

Mr Gabriel Wireko Sarkodie, Assembly member for Jachie West in the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region, who made the call, said such a move would help reduce incidents of electoral malpractices in the upcoming December 7, elections.

Mr Sarkodie was speaking at the launch of the District’s National Service Personnel Week at Kuntanase. He also urged personnel to accept postings to rural areas where their services would impact positively on the lives of the people. According to him, through interaction with community people, the youth would take them as role models. Mr John Osei Abankwa, District Co-Ordinator of the National Service Scheme, appealed to institutions that accept service postings to provide some training to personnel to enhance their performances wherever they went.

He charged all personnel to always endeavour to comply with the rules and regulations of their respective organisations.
