NPP poised to raise performance in Volta-Dan Botwe

Ho, Aug. 6, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP), is poised to double its percentage performance in the Volta region in this year’s December 7 elections, Mr Dan Botwe, a leading member of the NPP said. He said statistics compiled by the Electoral Commission on the 2004 elections gave President John Agyekum Kufour of the NPP 14.3 percent votes from the Volta region, while the Party’s John Kwaku Nayan polled 30.0 percent of the votes in Nkwanta North to win the party’s only seat in the region.

Mr Botwe stated the resolve during a brief visit to the Volta Regional Secretariat of the party in Ho on Tuesday. He said the Party would strengthen the Secretariat with the necessary support to bolster monitoring and the operational capacities of party structures down the line in preparation for the elections. Mr Botwe said the Party was not going to give up on the Volta region.

He said the visit offered him the opportunity to see how the party’s agents were faring. 6 Aug. 08
