Court remands suspected thief

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) Aug. 5 GNA- A circuit court at Dormaa Ahenkro has remanded Kwasi Botwey, unemployed, till August 5, this year, on two counts of unlawful entry and stealing. He pleaded not guilty and the court but the court presided over by Mr. Justice V.C. Senu remanded him into prison custody to allow police investigations into the case.

Chief Inspector M.K. Yeboah told the court that on July 3, 2008 the complainant, Madam Abenaa Agyeiwaa and her husband retired to bed around 2200 hours at Dormaa-Ahenkro. He said at about 0200 hours Agyeiwaa woke up suddenly and saw Botwey standing by their bed with a pair of scissors in his hand. Chief Inspector Yeboah said Botwey run out of the room banging the door after him but some co-tenants chased and arrested him and handed him over to the police.

Initial search on him revealed a Nokia phone but a thorough search of his room led to the discovery of two Nokia phones, a Samsung phone, a leather belt, a towel.
