Kofi Coomson disqualified at NPP primaries

Nana Kofi Coomson, former editor of the Chronicle News paper has been disqualified from contesting in the NPP parliamentary primaries of the Afia Kwasi Mintim Constituency.

Consituency Executives have cited his use of party name and letter head to solicit for funds for his parliamentary campaign as reason for his disqualification.

Joy FM said supporters of the disqualified candidate are stunned by the decision and have asked party executives to give reasons for the disqualification.

According to them Coomson did no wrong in using the party’s letter head to solicit for funds.

Coomson was contesting the seat with incumbent Joe Badu Ansah.

Two months ago, the publisher of the Chronicle was detained at the Afia Kwasi Mintim police station for using the party’s letter head to solicit for funds, and that appears to have jolted his ambition for becoming the party’s parliamentary candidate, at least for now.
