NDC candidate calls on CEPS Base Commander

Kwameseikrom (B/A), July 22, GNA – Mr. M.M. Iddrissu, Base Commander of Customs Excise and Preventive Service at Kwameseikrom on the Ghana-Cote D’lvoire border, has appealed to politicians to employ decorum in their electioneering campaigns to ensure peace before, during and after the December election.

Mr. Iddrissu said this when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign team in Jaman South constituency paid a visit to Kwameseikrom to introduce the constituency’s parliamentary candidate, Mr. Pierre Peter Kwabena Ankomah, to the chiefs and people of the area. The commander said security personnel in the area were poised to give protection to all political parties during their campaigns and that “the law will not spare any party supporter who would misconduct him/herself”.

Mr. Iddrissu urged the NDC candidate and his team as well as supporters of the party to avoid the use of abusive language and unnecessary attacks on political opponents but rather to conduct their campaigns on issues. Mr. Ankomah gave the assurance that the NDC would make sure that their campaigns would be devoid of acrimony and inflammatory statements. He and his entourage also called on the personnel of the Ghana Immigration Service at the base.
