Kufuor swears in new Ambassador to Togo

Accra, July 16, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday swore in Ghana’s new Ambassador to Togo, Mr. Kenneth Asare Bosompem, and charged him to help deepen the ties between the two neighbouring countries.

They must live well and co-operate for the mutual benefit of their peoples. Ghana and Togo are separated from the north to the south by a common border, dividing people with close blood ties and culture. President Kufuor said the Ambassador in the performance of his duties should therefore be aware of the sensitivity of the relations. President Kufuor earlier presented him with his Instrument of Appointment after administering to him the Oath of Allegiance, the Official Oath and Oath of Secrecy.

Mr Bosompem described his appointment as an honour not only to him by his “family and home village” and said he was conscious of the task ahead of him and pledged not to let the nation down. He said the tremendous progress over the last seven-and-a-half years provided the motivation to give of his best.
